Former UK player Joey Couch dies at 49

Former UK player and Kentucky All-State Linebacker Joey Couch died Friday night at age 49. Couch was a two-sport athlete and scored 2,000 points when playing with John Pelphrey. Couch’s wife, Angel, posted Friday on her Facebook account that her husband died from an “acute cardiac event” at their home.
